Vincent Guerriero

Research Interests

Dr. Guerriero, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Depts. of Animal Sciences and Molecular and Cellular Biology. He is internationally known for his studies on the regulation of heat stress proteins.Dr. Guerriero has numerous collaborators and has co-authored publications with various laboratories worldwide and has also been invited to speak at numerous international meetings. Dr. Guerriero’s discovery of a novel protein, HspBP1, which regulates how organisms respond to various stresses is the focus of his current research. More importantly, this protein is elevated in cancer cells and his research is centered on the role of HspBP1 in cancer cell growth and survival. His research has been funded by NIH, American Heart Association, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Arizona Biomedical Research Commission and the Arizona Cancer Center. Dr. Guerriero has published 44 peer-reviewed articles, 7 reviews and is the inventor on 3 patents. He has taught Animal Genetics, Biotechnology in Animal Science and Introductory Biology Honors.
