Awards

The BIO5 Innovator Award recognizes graduate and undergraduate students whose projects have the potential to support the mission of BIO5 in one of the following areas:

  1. Multidisciplinary bioscience research
  2. Innovation in education
  3. Entrepreneurship (technology transfer, new ideas for public/private partnerships, etc.)

The BIO5 Institute at The University of Arizona makes these awards available to one graduate and one undergraduate exhibitor -- whose work best represents the goals of BIO5 -- at the Graduate & Professional Student Council Student Showcase.

Science Foundation Arizona Graduate Research Fellowship Program

In the 2008 competition, SFAz will award up to 100 Graduate Research Fellowships to students pursuing doctorate degrees (or master's degrees in engineering), each proving one (1) year of initial support with anticipation of one (1) additional year of funding commensurate upon outstanding progress of the graduate student and availability of funding. SFAz Fellowships go to students with exceptional potential; the foundation awarded 80 fellowships in 2007.
