Glenn Foundation for Medical Research and AFAR Award Nearly $1.5M to Junior Faculty

The American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) and the Glenn Foundation for Medical Research announced the 2019 Research Grants for Junior Faculty recipients - one of whom is a BIO5 member. Dr. George Sutphin, assistant professor of molecular & cellular biology and genetics, was granted funds to understand the interaction between tryptophan and NAD metabolism during aging. Selected through a rigorous review process, fifteen Research Grants for Junior Faculty, totaling nearly $1,450,000, were awarded this year.
