In a rapid response to the shortage of gloves, masks and gowns, a team of UArizona faculty, staff and clinicians collected PPE donations from basic science laboratories, ASTEC and the College of Nursing. The team, lead by immunobiology professor Dr. Felicia Goodrum, reached out to folx in Health Sciences basic science labs by email and Twitter for extra supplies, ultimately collecting four card loads worth of supplies. Dr. Michael Abecassis, dean of the College of Medicine; Dr. David Salafsky, interim co-executive director of Campus Health; John Candito, representative of Banner Health; and Dr. Jean Wilson, professor of cellular and molecular medicine helped Dr. Goodrum in her efforts.
