Below are instructions to request new access:

  • To gain access to the Keating or BSRL buildings you will need a biometric CatCard. (See example below). It is important to note that the biometric CatCard has the magnetic strip across the bottom of the back of the card. If you do not have a biometric CatCard, you must obtain one from the CatCard office before requesting access. The biometric CatCard will store your fingerprint along with other pertinent information that is necessary to access these secure buildings. Fingerprint enrollment can be done at the Catcard office or onsite at Keating by setting up an appointment with Mario Marquez.

      • There are two ways to log into the portal to request access or to modify existing access (See Employee Registration below). Employees of the University of Arizona are assigned a unique NetID which us used to log into employee systems. Visitors who are not employees must work with the labs they are visiting to obtain access.

      • Once logged in, you must select the item(s) in which you are requesting access. This is the case whether you are requesting it for the first time or adding an area to your existing permissions. The request will go to the approver of that area, via email. Access will be approved/denied within 24 hours of requesting it. A PIN will be required for after-hours access (5pm - 8am). These can be setup at access.bio5.org, by choosing ‘Reset PIN’ in the top left corner of the page.

      • Click here for a step-by-step access guide.

For questions or concerns about your access, please contact Robert Sandoval or Mario Marquez.
