Research Interests

Our life in the 21st century is affected more and more by mental illness, in which we still have little knowledge at the neural circuits level. We are studying the neural circuits of animal behaviors, with a focus on understanding how the neural circuits regulate feeding and emotional behaviors. Our research aims are to study the neural circuitry mechanism of animal behaviors in health and disease, as well as develop research tools and disease therapies. Currently, we focus on understanding how the neural circuits regulate feeding and emotional behaviors like fear, anxiety, and depression. We hope to improve our mental health and increase our understanding of the neural mechanism of mental disorders by basic research conducted on the animal models.
